Introduction to the Woo

The Mr. Woo series is a parody of the many crazy cooking shows seen on cable TV, featuring the voice of Bob Narley as Mr. Woo.  Mr. Woo is different than other cooking shows in that he only cooks endangered species, and usually in a very violent and graphic manor.

Mr. Woo's Wonderful World of Wok was an exercise in improvisation.  Bob Narley would actually improvise the entire show as Mr. Woo into a digital audio workstation, the Orban DSE.  Then, Miguel and/or Bob would mix in the audience reactions and sound effects to create the scene.

"It's truly a parody of the gross food that they prepare on those oriental cooking shows.  The idea was to be shocking, plain and simple, to let the listeners mind fill in the blanks and paint their own mental picture, usually for the worse.  So the questions is, who do you blame for being shocked?  Do you blame me? or yourself for painting that picture in your head?  What did you see?"  Bob Narley
